The Stroud Area Regional Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division, is investigating two incidents of ATM tampering at the ESSA Bank, located at 75 Washington St, East Stroudsburg.

On January 24, 2025, at approximately 11:45 P.M., a White Nissan SUV was seen at the ATM lane, and a male suspect exited the vehicle, using an unknown tool to access the interior of the ATM machine. It is believed the suspect removed a hard drive from the ATM at this time. No money was taken from the ATM machine.

On January 30, 2025, at approximately 1:53 A.M., a dark-colored sedan was seen at the same ATM lane, and a male suspect exited the vehicle, attempting to re-install a hard drive using a key. The hard drive was not re-installed, and the suspects fled after an alarm was set off. No money was taken from the ATM machine.

The Stroud Area Regional Police Department is aware of similar incidents occurring in numerous states, including Pennsylvania, where suspects are tampering with ATM hard drives to withdraw large amounts of currency.

If you have any information on the suspects or related to the tampering of the ATM machine, please "Submit a Tip". All tipsters can remain anonymous or leave contact information for the investigating Detective.

ALL SUSPECTS ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.  THESE ARE MERELY ACCUSATIONS OF A CRIME.
