Last week, Congresswoman Susan Wild joined Blue Ridge Cable News 13 to talk about her recent push to lower grocery prices for Pennsylvanians.

Congresswoman Susan Wild: “If you’re buying a package…and you find out that there’s a third less in the package, obviously that’s going to make a difference in how far it goes in feeding your family.”

After a Federal Trades Commission (FTC) report

found that major grocery retailers exploited product shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic by raising the price of food more than they needed to, Congresswoman Wild signed onto two critical pieces of legislation to combat corporate greed: the Price Gouging Prevention Act and the Shrinkflation Prevention Act

. If passed, these bills would ban the practices of arbitrarily inflating the cost of goods or services, as well as charging more for smaller products.

Last week, Congresswoman Wild also called on President Biden to take immediate action to address the high cost of food nationwide, and outlined specific steps the President could take that would ease the burden on everyday consumers.
