On Jan. 16, the Stroudsburg Varsity Boys’ Basketball team fell to Freedom High School with the final score of 71-57. Stroudsburg has yet to pick up a win in the new year.

Freedom came out of the gates guns blazing going on a 13-0 run at the start of the game. Back-to-back three-pointers from Alex Pacitti, ’25, and Jarel Jackson, ’27, added six points to the scoreboard.

At the end of the first quarter, the score was 24-15 in favor of Freedom. The second quarter brought more of the same, bringing the score to 38-21 going into the half.

After a back-and-forth third quarter, the score was 57-35. A competitive fourth quarter brought the final score to 71-57.

This was a great team, but we were better, if we played them again, it wouldn’t be close. We could perform much better than we are, and I believe we will.”

— Marvin Dorvilus, '25

Stroudsburg is currently 2-16 and with 5 games left in the season. Stroudsburg has already been eliminated from playoff contention, but the future of this young team is hopeful.
