Presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. ARRESTDetails MapOn October 7th, 2024 at approximately 3:50pm. Officers of The Pocono Township Police Department were alerted of a male attempting to cash counterfeit money orders at First National Bank in Tannersville. An employee of the bank gave a description of the actor, the vehicle, and the direction he fled after being denied the cash.
A short time later, an officer located the suspect vehicle at a local gas station. Contact was made with the driver who provided a false name and several false dates of birth. Through an investigation it was discovered that the male was Tyshawn Wyman, a 28 year old man from New York. Wyman possessed an active warrant out of South Carolina for fraudulent bank practices.
A search of Wyman's vehicle yielded several credit cards not belonging to him, narcotics, and customer receipts exactly matching the money orders he tried to cash.
Wyman was placed under arrest and charged with 6 felonies involving forgery, 2 felonies involving attempted theft, 2 misdemeanors involving access device fraud, a misdemeanor involving false identification to law enforcement, and 2 misdemeanors dealing with narcotics possession and paraphernalia.
Wyman was placed in the Monroe County Correctional Facility where he was arraigned by the honorable Judge Levy. Wyman was denied bail due to his status as a flight risk.
