ARRESTDetails MapOn March 18th, 2025, an officer with the Pocono Township Police Department received an anonymous tip regarding a possible fight/intoxicated driver in the parking lot of Weis Markets in Tannersville. The officer responded to the area and was able to locate the individuals/vehicle described in the tip. The officer was then able to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle leaving the parking lot after observing several traffic and equipment violations.
Through the investigation, the officer was able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Jason Taber, a 39-year-old male last known to be living in the Bartonsville area. Taber was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). It was later found that Taber had a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of nearly three times (3X) the legal limit.
Charges have been filed in relation to this incident.
