On April 29th, 2025, officers of the Pocono Township Police Department were dispatched to the Camelback Lodge, for a theft of one of their UTVs (Utility Terrain Vehicle). Security footage showed the defendant, Ernest Mastria, of Tobyhanna, operating the UTV at approximately 03:40 P.M. on April 25th. The defendant stashed the UTV in a low traffic parking area, concealing it behind other equipment. The defendant then leaves property.

A subsequent investigation discovered that after leaving the property, the defendant returned with a borrowed pickup truck and trailer. The defendant then loaded the UTV and fled. After interviewing the defendant officers recovered the stolen UTV and the defendant was arrested on felony theft charges. The Pocono Township Police Department would like to thank Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department and Stroud Area Regional Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
