Warrant Details

  • Warrant Type: Arrest
  • Date Issued: Tuesday January 21st, 2025
  • Issuing Authority: MDJ Gasper
  • Holding Department: Stroud Area Regional Police Department
  • Docket Number: MJ-43302-CR-000023-2025
  • Reference ID: 2025-001038

On January 13, 2025, at 6:19 p.m., the Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to the Home Depot in Stroud Township for a report of a retail theft.  Upon arrival contact was made with the loss prevention officer and it was related that a male identified as Jeremias Martinez had come into the store several times since April 1, 2024, purchased items, then came back at a later date with the receipt, selecting the same items from the display shelves, going to customer service and exchanging them for money, creating a false pretense that they had been purchased.  This deprived Home Depot of $2,308.45.

During this time Martinez was observed selecting merchandise from display shelves and exiting the store without paying for $919.10 worth of merchandise.  On separate occasions, Martinez selected items from display shelves, taking that merchandise to self-checkout where he under-rang multiple items depriving Home Depot of $419.40.

Martinez was positively identified using security footage which was compared to his driver's license photo.  Martinez's name was acquired from the phone number used for the rewards program.  Martinez also used multiple credit cards that came back to him.  The registration from a red Honda Accord was obtained.  Martinez was seen driving away from the Home Depot in this vehicle.  The registration came back to a female with the same address as Martinez's driver's license.

Charges were filed and a felony arrest warrant was issued.
