On April 12, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. Stroud Area Regional Police were dispatched to the Walmart in East Stroudsburg for a report of a retail theft. Upon arrival the officer spoke with the loss prevention officer who related he observed a black female by the name of Maxmara Lockley enter the store, take a yellow t-shirt and go into the women's restroom. Upon leaving the restroom she was wearing the t-shirt and she walked past the final point of sale without paying for the shirt. Lockley had previously been trespassed from the store as well. A check of her information showed an arrest warrant out of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Lockley was taken into custody and a search incident to arrest found drug paraphernalia and a small baggie of white powder concealed in a cigarette box. Lockley was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility for commitment.
Lockley was scheduled for a hearing in which she failed to appear, and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
