On August 1, 2024 the Pocono Township Police Department received notification from the Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Division of a possible illegal firearm purchase. After further investigation it was found that the suspect who was identified to be Mirjan Kurtovic attempted to illegally purchase a firearm at Bella Mia Jewels, due to being in the United States illegally.
