Presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. ARRESTDetails MapOn November 4, 2023, at approximately 1345 hours, an officer from the Pocono Township Police Dept responded to a residence on Pocono Circle in the Barton Glen Development for a report of an attempted vehicle break in. The victim advised the officer that they had received motion detections from their Ring camera from around midnight that night. The victim reviewed the video, which showed someone walking down their drive way and in front of their residence by their parked vehicles. The victim contacted other members of the community and found that the same person had been seen of their Ring cameras and had items missing from their vehicles. The officer made contact with another victim who lives on Kenneth Dr in Barton Glen. The victim had Ring video surveillance of a man walking up her driveway and attempted to break into her vehicle at approximately the same time of night.
The officer contacted a Trooper from the Pennsylvania State Police Fernridge Barracks who advised that their department had received several vehicle break complaints in Barton Glen, which all occurred that same night.
The officer and several Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police worked together and investigated the incidents. Through the lengthy investigation, Tyler Kostenbader, the defendant in this matter, was identified as the suspect. Kostenbader was later arrested by PSP for the incidents that occurred in their jurisdiction.
Pocono Township Police filed charges of loitering and prowling at night and attempted theft from a vehicle were filed on Kostenbader and he is awaiting a preliminary hearing at Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge's office.
