On October 1, 2024, the Pocono Township Police Department took a report of a theft by deception. The victim in this matter, a Pocono Township resident, reported that they had entered into an agreement to purchase a tractor trailer via a Facebook Marketplace post. The victim traveled to a truck stop in New Jersey and met with Darin T. Johnson Jr., a 39-year-old male from Wilmington, Delaware. Johnson showed the trailer to the victim and sold it as if he was the owner. The transaction was eventually completed and Johnson provided a title and bill of sale. Upon attempting to register the trailer, the victim discovered that the trailer was not owned by Johnson and that the title was counterfeit.

A subsequent investigation discovered that the trailer was stolen from a warehouse in New Jersey and transported to the truck stop. A felony warrant was issued for Johnson's arrest.
