ARRESTDetails MapOn February 1, 2025 at approximately 2033 hours, the Pocono Township Police Department was dispatched to a report of a theft from a purse at Weis Market in Tannersville. Upon further investigation it was discovered that the victim in this matter mistakenly left her purse in a cart. When the victim returned to retrieve the purse, she discovered that money was missing. Upon reviewing surveillance it was discovered that Otis Brooks, a 62-year-old male from Scotrun, PA., retrieved the purse from outside and removed the money from it prior to turning it into management. Brooks subsequently admitted to the theft. Charges have been filed for theft and receiving stolen property.
