The cast list for the school musical “The Addams Family” was released and practice for the show is beginning this week.
Characters of this musical includes Wednesday Addams, Gomez Addams, Morticia Addams, Puggsley Addams, Fester Addams, Grandmama Addams, Alice Beineke, Mal Beineke, Lucas Beineke, Lurch, and the ancestors/ensemble.
Gabrielle Sanchez, ’25, will play Wednesday Addams, the adventurous gothic girl with a dry sense of humor and the sensibility of her mother. She causes chaos in her family as she falls for a “normal” boy (Lucas) and is pulled in a new direction of life.
Sanchez may be recognizable for her stunning performance as Emma in last year’s musical The Prom.
Ilian Rivera, ’27, will play Gomez Addams, the loving husband of Morticia Addams. Forced to hide secrets from Morticia, he’s put to the test entertaining the audience with comedy to break the high tensions.
“I’m feeling very excited and frankly surprised about getting Gomez,” admitted Rivera, “I’m looking forward to everything involving the musical.”
Mikaela Lipitz, ’26, will play Morticia Addams, the mysterious, witty head of the Addams family. Caught up in her own idea of tradition, she struggles with secrets kept from her and her sense of normality falling apart.
“I’m honestly over the moon,” expressed Lipitz, “When I first stepped into the audition a part of me was like ‘OMG it’s musical again.’ Even if I hadn’t gotten a lead role, I love our school’s musical. I’ve done a lot of junior shows, but this is my first time as a lead in a full length show.”
Alexander Franolich, ’25, will play Lucas Beineke, the “normal” boy Wednesday has fallen for. Standing out brightly from the Addams, his dorky nature adds a bit of light to his girlfriend’s life. He’s nervous about what the future holds, but loves Wednesday and is willing to figure it out together.
Julia Sobrinski, ’26, will play Alice Beineke, Lucas’ mother. She’s the typical bored, middle-class wife who misses the fun of her youth.
“I am super excited. I think shes a hilarious role. I’m going to have a lot of fun working with everyone and playing that part, it’s going to be a fun working with everyone and playing that part,” expressed Sobrinski, “I’m excited to meet new people, there’s a lot of new faces, and getting closer with my classmates from last year.”
The rest of the main cast includes Luis Torres, ’27, playing Fester Addams, Sandy Gravesande, ’26, playing Grandma Addams, Ethan Dudsak, ’25, playing Mal Beineke, and Logan Potochnick, ’25, playing Lurch.
“I’m excited and a little nervous to play Grandma Addams It’s gonna be a challenge,” commented Gravesande.
Pugsley Addams has not been cast yet.
The dance captains will be Alisabeth Guepet, ’25 and Alena Murry, ’25.
