Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Welcome to 3 Reasons Why, your guide to making the most of Race Weekend at Pocono Raceway! Just like our legendary three turns at the Tricky Triangle, we’re giving you three not-so-tricky ways to elevate your race day experience. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime fan, this series will help you get the most out of your trip to Pocono.

In this edition, we’re kicking things off with one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the action—camping at Pocono! Staying on-site takes your race weekend to the next level, and here’s why:

1. Non-Stop Fun, Day and Night

Camping at Pocono isn’t just about having a place to sleep—it’s an all-out experience! From live entertainment and daily activities to driver appearances and bonfires, the excitement never stops.

Pocono Raceway enhances its fan experience with unique amenities for camping guests. The Ally Bark Park, a first for NASCAR tracks, provides a dedicated space for dogs, open daily for RV campers. The infield also features the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital Inclusive Playground, designed for children of all abilities, and the Pocono Mountains Activities & Welcome Center, offering free daily activities like yoga, arts and crafts, and photography classes for all ages.

As evening falls, the raceway transforms with the Infield Block Party. This free event, open to all camping guests, features live concerts, kid-friendly activities, and a variety of food and beverage options, creating a vibrant atmosphere on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Additionally, firework displays provide added entertainment, making the camping experience at Pocono Raceway a well-rounded and enjoyable one.

2. The Convenience Factor

Wake up at the track, skip the morning traffic, and be just minutes away from the action. With on-site amenities, you’ll have everything you need for a stress-free weekend.

Pocono Raceway’s five-day camping experience, running from Thursday noon to Monday noon, is packed with complimentary benefits. Campers enjoy free grandstand access on Friday and Saturday, plus all-weekend access to Fan Fair. Because each infield camping spot includes two Paddock Passes, campers have convenient access to the nearby Paddock. To ensure comfort, free shower facilities are available throughout the campgrounds. Pocono Raceway prioritizes families by offering free admission for children 12 and under during NASCAR race weekends, including the NASCAR Cup Series Race.

For seamless navigation, Pocono Raceway provides convenient access and transportation options. Paddock Pass Plus ticket holders enjoy direct grandstand to infield access via the pedestrian tunnel. All other campers can utilize the free shuttle service, which runs continuously between infield camping, grandstand camping, and the grandstand/Fan Fair. Infield RV campers receive a Dash Pass for easy vehicle entry and exit, while tent campers use their campsite placard. These comprehensive perks ensure a comfortable, engaging, and convenient race weekend for all camping guests.

3. The Tradition & The Tailgates

Nothing beats the camaraderie of Pocono campers! Fire up the grill, crack open a cold one, and make memories with fellow race fans. You’ll hear it all the time: the Tricky Triangle is where lifelong friendships are formed, and traditions are born. Whether you are planning your trip with a bunch of your friends, or this is your families annual summer vacation spot, there is something at Pocono for you.

Unlike going to a single day sporting event, the tailgate at Pocono lasts all weekend! Be sure to pack plenty of food and beverages for a weekend of fun and life-long memories.

Pocono Raceway enhances the camping experience by fostering community and creativity. Be on the lookout for the annual camping theme where fans can decorate the campsite and have some fun. The campgrounds at Pocono Raceway cultivate a strong sense of community, allowing fans to connect and share memorable experiences. It’s also easy to not miss any of the action! You can enjoy the events on track and the races from your campsite or the Paddock, the freedom is yours! Pro Tip: Bring a bicycle to get around the infield.

Furthermore, as we mentioned previously, camping guests enjoy free infield entertainment, including live music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and a fireworks display on Saturday night. Bring an appetite and your dancing shoes, the Infield Block Party is the place to be once the track goes quiet and the sun goes down!

Bonus Tip:

Race Weekend kicks off with a Welcome To Pocono Track Walk! Campers are invited to join us Thursday night on the track.

Stay tuned for the next edition of 3 Reasons Why, where we’ll explore why you need to visit Fan Fair before the green flag drops!
