3 charged in recent drug busts in Tobyhanna

TOBYHANNA TWP., Pa. -- Police in Monroe County announced the recent arrests of three people on drug trafficking charges.

Shanace Armstrong-Woods, 40, of Tobyhanna, is accused of selling heroin and fentanyl, said Pocono Mountain Regional police.

Armstrong-Woods was arrested after a search warrant last week in the 100 block of Colt Place. Investigators found bulk quantities of heroin and fentanyl, worth more than $8,000, as well as materials to store and sell drugs and money from the sales, police say.

Charges include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $100,000.

Police also served a search warrant in the 8800 block of Cloudcrest Drive in Tobyhanna Township. Two people were caught in the act of selling drugs, police say.

John Nester, 54, and Amy Pajala, 44, were both taken into custody. Pajala was found to be a fugitive, police said.

Investigators found heroin, fentanyl, prescription and counterfeit pills, marijuana, drug packaging materials, cash and a loaded handgun, police said. The drugs were worth more than $6,000.
