Smithfield Township: Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting (Sealed Bids re: Road Materials)

NOTICE TO BIDDERS SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP Sealed bids for the following road materials will be accepted by the Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors, 1155 Red Fox Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa., 18301, until 10:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Friday, July 12, 2024, at which time said proposals will be opened at 10:30 A.M. and read aloud. It is anticipated that contracts will be awarded at the following regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Supervisors. 600-ton (more or less) PA 2-A Subbase 200-ton (more or less) AASHTO #8 stone 300-ton (more or less) AASHTO #57 stone 400-ton (more or less) Select Granular Material - 2RC 400-ton (more or less) AASHTO #3 stone 100-ton (more or less) AASHTO #1 stone 100-ton (more or less) AASHTO #10 stone 3,000-ton (more or less) Superpave Wearing Course, 9.5 mm 500-ton (more or less) Superpave Binder Course, 19mm 500-ton (more or less) Superpave Binder Course, 25 mm 50-ton (more or less) QPR Cold Patch All materials must conform to PennDOT specifications. All prices shall be quoted F.O.B. as well as Delivered. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount of 10% of the bid. Each proposal shall be clearly marked Material Bid on the outside of the envelope. No responsibility will be attached to any Township representative for the premature opening of a bid not properly addressed and/or identified. All bids must be submitted on the form provided by the Township. The successful bidder shall provide a performance bond equal to 50% of the contract and a certificate of liability and workers compensation insurance. The Township reserves the right to award bids independently to separate bidders when bids for more than one item are included on the proposal form. The Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any technicality or formality therein. Failure of the bidder to sign the bid may be cause for rejection of the bid. Any bidder may withdraw his bid at any time before the time set for receipt of bids. No bid may be withdrawn within (60) days after the bids are received.
