The East Stroudsburg University Warrior Food Pantry recently received two donations from campus fundraisers. The hospitality, recreation, and tourism management department and art + media + design department raised $2,675 during an Empty Bowls fundraiser during the spring 2023 semester. ESU’s sustainability committee raised $2,665 during their summer Warrior Yard Sale.
This year’s Empty Bowls featured handmade bowls made by the art + media + design department during the semester, sold with homemade soup during an event that was held during ESU’s Inauguration Week for its 14th president, Kenneth Long. A silent auction was also held during the event.
The Warrior Yard Sale was comprised of items donated by students as they moved out of residence halls at the end of the academic year. Items included clothing, bedding, cleaning supplies, and electronics.
The ESU Warrior Food Panty is a collaborative initiative with St. Matthew’s Church located just off campus at 78 Ridgeway Street. The pantry ensures that students are able to obtain necessary food for their well-being. To learn more about the Warrior Food Panty visit esu.edu/food_pantry or watch a video.
