BANGOR, P.A. – Last week, Congresswoman Susan Wild attended the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Legislative Breakfast at Franklin Hill Vineyards in Bangor, Pennsylvania.
“Every opportunity I have to spend time with people across our agricultural community is one I’m thankful for,” said Congresswoman Susan Wild. “It’s your hard work that keeps our families fed. I will always advocate for you in Washington, so that whether you run a dairy, a farm, a ranch, or do any other critical ag sector job, your needs are addressed.”
Rep. Wild heard from Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members and other ag sector members about their priorities – including Shyanne, a dairy farming student at SUNY Marsville. Rep. Wild spoke with Krissa of Brewer Dairy Farms about the hard work and challenges of operating a family-owned dairy, and what she can do to help.
Rep. Wild is supporting the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act of 2023, a bill that would allow schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program to serve whole or reduced-fat milk to students. This bill will both make sure that our kids get necessary nutrition, while helping our dairy farmers thrive.
From working to pass a Farm Bill that addresses PA-07’s needs, to supporting workforce development needed by the agricultural sector, to enhancing healthy food access for families, Rep. Wild will continue to advocate for farmers across PA-07 and the entire Commonwealth.
