The original Halloween movie was on such a dismally low budget that they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for costumes. They found the Michael Myers mask at a costume shop for just two bucks. It was a William Shatner Star Trek mask! A few snips to widen the eyeholes and some white spray paint helped bring about the perfect expressionless creep factor. Beam me up, Scotty! On the other face, the iconic mask for Scream was found draped over a chair while scouting a location that was once used by Alfred Hitchcock. The mask was originally created by a place called Fun World and was called the "Peanut-Eyed Ghost." Want more Halloween fun? A carnival is open for business at an East Stroudsburg home, but it’s not the kind you are thinking of.

Joseph and George’s property in Wilderness Acres is overrun with all things scary, as they’ve been decorating since August for the perfect Halloween display.

“Seeing the behind-the-scenes of putting this all together is pretty amazing and it’s definitely a good time,” said George Parente, homeowner.

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania presented its annual Distinguished Professor Award to Andrea “Andi” McClanahan, Ph.D., professor of communication, at an All-University Meeting on Tuesday, October 29.

The Distinguished Professor Award – the highest honor for ESU faculty to receive – is presented based on outstanding contributions to the academic life of the University and its reputation. The award of Distinguished Professor is conferred upon an individual by the ESU President, Kenneth Long, in recognition of exceptional achievements in teaching, research/scholarship/creative activities, and service.

During the American Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg left more than 50,000 total casualties, making it one of the bloodiest battles in American history. The battlefield is now the home of numerous spirits.

The Devil’s Den

The famous rock formation known as the Devil’s Den was served as a Confederate sniper’s nest during the battle. Ghost sightings have been a common occurrence for the Den since the end of the battle. Witnesses have reported hearing unexplained battle sounds echoing throughout the jumbles of rocks.

Photographers have noted to seeing a figure of a solider. His hair was long and unkept, he was shoeless and in ragged clothing. Spirits have even communicated with witnesses before vanishing without a trace.

Along with these specific occurrences have been more generally reported ones such as cavalrymen, riding horseback appearing and vanishing moments later, and the sound of shouts, gunshots, and cries.
